Saif Al-Adl said:

The governments rely on something called stations, it is an expression meaning a location in which there is an officer on a case and from him the network of agents starts. The station could be under a cover for eg. press and news agencies”.

The security administrator in AlQaeda, Abdullah Al-Adam, commented on this text saying:
“The American journalist that met with Shaykh Usamah Ibn Laden at the end of the nineties, was appointed vice president of the FBI as well as the US internal security. how did he progress in a few years to this great position and became a deputy or one of the major deputies of the FBI? When he came to Afghanistan and met with Shaykh Usamah Ibn Laden, he must have been from the U.S internal security, The FBI. But under the cover of being a journalist, countries always use journalists as a cover for espionage operations on whomever they want”.

He also said:
“For example, the intelligence agencies can know what goes on in an establishment through journalists that visit this establishment in order to have a press meeting or something else so they can know what is going on in that establishment.
We have previously mentioned that many assassinations which happened especially against the Palestinians in the seventies and the eighties were done through journalists!
Most journalists work as spies, many Palestinians were killed because of their dealings with journalists”.

He also said:
The journalist, Daniel Pearl, whom was captured in Karachi, came to Pakistan to make a report on the Education movement and the students and other students in religious schools, this was only a cover, what did he really want? He came to search for Khalid Sheikh Mohammed).

That is why it is difficult to trust a journalist even if he appears as a freelancer or independent reporter!
