You do not feel the strangeness of the religion when the scholars or imams or Mujahideen die, rather you feel the strangeness of the religion when heretics, atheists and apostates die!
You see many who call themselves “Muslims” giving their condolences and wish for Jannah for the deseased Kuffar!
Allah says: “And hasten to forgiveness from your Lord and a garden as wide as the heavens and earth, prepared for the righteous”.
They say: “it is also prepared for the atheists”.
The Messenger peace be upon him said: “Only a Mu’min will enter Jannah”. [Saheeh Muslim].
They say: No, the disbeliever and the atheists and the heretic also enter it!
It is as if Jannah is in their hands and not the hands of Allah!!! They set conditions that they like and say: “This person enters and that one doesn’t”!
They do not care nor do they pay attention to the conditions set by Allah – He who created Jannah which is in His hands-!!!
Some bring forth weak misconseptions and doubts e.g. :
– The Jewish prostitute which gave water to a dog and entered Jannah (Narrated by Bukhari in his Saheeh).
They say: Look, she was a Jewess as well as a prostitute yet she entered Jannah because of the good she did to that dog, so how about those that do good to mankind?!
To refute this misconseption we say:
This woman was on the last religion sent by Allah at that time which is “Judaism” – it was the correct religion at that time. She was a Mu’minah and a sinner at the same time. Allah forgave her sins because of the good deed she commited.
Allah says: “Indeed, good deeds wipe out bad deeds”. Allah granted her Jannah. If she was not a Mu’minah she would not have entered Jannah. The proof for that is Abu Talib, the uncle of the Messenger peace be upon him, he did an action far greater than what she did which is protecting the Messenger and defending him and was subjected to a siege and famine for 3 years! Yey the Messenger peace be upon him as mentioned in Saheeh Muslim said that he is in the Hellfire!
– Others say that an individual may have been an atheist but before his death believed in the existence of a God.
I say: If he became a believer in the existence of a god but did not become a Muslim then this will not benefit him. Allah the Almighty says: “And whoever desires other than Islam as a religion – never will it be accepted from him, and he, in the Hereafter, will be among the losers”. Anyone that does not accept Islam as his religion then it will not be accepted from him!!
– Others say: ” we do not know perhaps this individual believed in the last moments of his life and became a Muslim!
I say: Any person can turn this against you, and say that the Zionists for example perhaps became Muslims and regretted what they did to the Muslims, so do not be angry with those that offer condolences and feel sorry for their death!
Is this an acceptable argument?
The good action without Imaan does not lead you to enter Jannah. In Saheeh Muslim it was repprted that Umm Al-Mu’mineen Aisha said: Oh Messenger of Allah, Ibn Jad’an (who was one of the leaders of Quraysh) used to be dutiful to his kin, and used to feed the poor, did it benefit him? He replied: it did not benefit him; not one day in his life did he say: Oh Lord, forgive me my mistakes on the Day of Judgment.
Meaning that he rejected resurrection! This is the situation of many atheists in our time – , However, these praiseworthy customs do not benefit nor do they benefit him to save him on the Day of Judgment, how can we then say that these praiseworthy customs benefit Imaan rather that they could bring their doer to Jannah?! Are they more knowledgeable than Messenger peace be upon him who was sent by Allah?!
